Recall Issued for Skil Circular Saws

The U.S. Consumer Protection Agency in conjunction with the Robert Bosch Tool Corp. of Mount Prospect, Illinois, has undertaken a voluntary recall of the Skil brand Circular Saw.

The saw has had at least five reported incidents in which the trigger switch fails to keep the blade from stopping after use, a situation which poses a laceration hazard. The current switch causes unexpected operation of the saw after use and places consumers at significant risk. There have been no injuries reported to date.

Skil saw's recall specifically involves models with the numbers 5650, 5700, 5750, and 5755. The model numbers are printed on the front of the saw, along with a date code. The following date codes were included in the recall: 28101-29231, 38101-39231, 48101-49231, 58101-59231, and 68101-69231.

By returning their saw to the Skil's address mentioned on the consumer link above, saw owners can have the glitch repaired free of charge without having the need to purchase a new saw.
