Ford Recalls More Than 225,000 Vehicles Due To Faulty Wires

Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 225,000 vehicles, most of which were part of an earlier recall of 9.5 million cars and light trucks that were recalled due to a dangerous defect in the cruise control switches. Although no injuries or accidents have yet to be reported, these vehicles, mostly the E-Series vans, are being recalled again to fix wiring that does not protect fuses from shorting out. All of the wiring in question was discovered during repairs at dealerships and were made by the same auto-parts maker. The vehicles being recalled are 185,000 E-Series from the 1992 to 2003 model years; 1993-1995 Ford Taurus SHO; 1992-1998 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis; 1992-1995 Lincoln Town Car; 1993 Ford Bronco; 1993 Ford Super Duty; and 1995-1997 Ford Super Duty. The Super Duty models affected are gasoline- engine only versions, not diesel models.
